CUPPING THERAPY
What is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping Therapy is a 3000 year old therapy used to treat pain, ease scar tissue deep within muscles and connective tissues as well as reduce inflammation & muscle knots.

Cupping Therapy works by increasing blood flow to the strained area, which can help to decrease inflammation, improve circulation and relieve pain. It also helps stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid, which can help to remove toxins from the body.

What happens during a cupping appointment?

During a cupping appointment, the cups will be applied to the treatment area usually after tissues have been broken down with massage.
The client may experience pressure, discomfort, warmth, or even a slight burning sensation but there should be little to no pain. The cup's suction can be increased or decreased depending on the clients tolerance.

Will there be side effects?

Cupping may leave temporary marks on the skin that resembles a ‘ring’. Cupping can cause side effects such as persistent skin discoloration, scars & infections & may worsen eczema or psoriasis.

As with all the therapies I offer we will discuss a plan of action as to what is the most appropriate therapy or therapies for you.
